The two pieces of canvas display “parts” of a wolf’s face painted with acrylic, while the wood depicts an oil-painted self-portrait. The two wolf pieces overlap with the portrait in corresponding places to convey an animalistic anger. The sketch of the portrait is visible under the paint to create a sense of physical deterioration alongside emotional deterioration.
